Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or case number entered in a search box first passes through the local report-builder page as URL query data. That means the fields may appear in browser history, ordinary web requests, and associated server logs. The report-builder then creates the outside provider link used for the next step. Once submitted to that provider, the query is processed under the provider's own privacy policy.
Messages and Contact Submissions
An email or contact message may be retained long enough to respond and maintain the related correspondence. It is not shared beyond our organization unless disclosure is required by a valid legal obligation.
Data We Gather Automatically
When a page loads, servers may record basic technical details about that visit:
- The IP address assigned to your device
- Which browser you are using and its version
- Your device type and operating system
- The pages you visited and how long you stayed on each
- The site that sent you here, if any
- Timestamps for each page view
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small files placed on a device. They help measure aggregate use, such as popular pages and points where visits end. Analytics providers may process that traffic information. A browser can block or remove cookies, although doing so may change how some features behave.
What We Do With This Data
Collected technical information is used only for operating, measuring, and improving the service and its search connections.
- Keeping the site up, running, and loading quickly
- Sending your search requests to the right partner service
- Figuring out which pages people find useful and which need work
- Tracking down and fixing technical issues
- Showing ads that may line up with your interests
No Court-Record Data on File
Kit Carson County Court Docket does not host, compile, maintain, or sell a database of personal case records. It publishes general directions to the Combined Court clerk, Colorado trial courts, municipal custodians, and statewide docket channels. Access to judicial case files follows CJD 05-01 and the clerk process; the Colorado Open Records Act, C.R.S. §§24-72-200.1 through 24-72-206, applies to many other public records. No visitor information is assembled into a third-party record or consumer report, and this resource is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies power the search boxes. Information submitted through a box is governed by that provider's privacy policy. The provider, not Kit Carson County Court Docket, sets its retention, processing, and sharing practices. Review those terms before sending a query.
Links to Other Websites
Links lead to Colorado court pages, clerk resources, statewide services, legal-help sources, and outside tools. Once a visitor follows an external link, the destination's privacy rules control. Read them before providing personal details.
An advertising provider may use its own technology to measure activity across services or select ads. That processing occurs under the provider's systems and policy.
Who Might See Your Data
We do not sell personal information. Limited data may be processed by:
- Search partners that handle queries you run on our site
- Analytics services we use to track traffic and performance
- Ad networks that place ads on our pages
- Law enforcement or government bodies when a valid legal order requires it
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable administrative and technical practices are used to protect collected information. No internet service can guarantee perfect security, so an unauthorized event can never be ruled out completely.
Users Under 18
This resource is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If such information is identified, a request may be made for its deletion.
Your Data Rights
Rights vary by residence and applicable privacy law. Court-record access follows CJD 05-01 and the clerk process, while the Colorado Open Records Act, C.R.S. §§24-72-200.1 through 24-72-206, applies to many other public records. Subject to applicable limits, a user may:
- Ask for a copy of what we have on file about you
- Have us fix information that is wrong
- Request that we erase your data
- Opt out of certain kinds of data processing
